Frequently Asked Questions

[toggle title=”Help! I can’t place stickers on top of my photos. Why?”]

In order to place a sticker on top of a photo or ‘selfie’, you need to do the following:

  1. Take a photo (or ‘selfie’).
  2. Send the photo (or ‘selfie’) to the recipient. This is important, stickers can only be added to photos or images after the photo or image has been sent. It is not possible to layer stickers or multiple stickers on top of a photo when composing a message.
  3. Once the photo has sent, tap on the App Store icon to open your iMessage Apps drawer.
  4. Find the sticker that you would like to use.
  5. Instead of tapping on the sticker you want to use, press and hold the sticker and then drag it over the photo that you have just sent. Stickers can be resized or rotated before they are placed. To make stickers bigger or smaller, use the pinch gesture using your thumb and finger. Alternatively, you can rotate a sticker by moving your thumb and finger in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. Caution: Be careful when placing stickers over an image or photo. If the sticker exceeds the bounds of the message bubble then this can cause the sticker overlay to be out of place on the recipients device. Always try to keep the sticker overlay within the bounds of the message bubble.
  6. When you are happy with the sticker placement. Move your finger(s) away from the screen and the sticker will be placed on top of the photo.
  7. When the recipient views the photo on his or her device, they will see the photo with the sticker overlay.

[toggle title=”Can I resize the stickers before placing them on top of my image?”]

Yes. Stickers can be resized or rotated before they are placed. To make stickers bigger or smaller, use the pinch gesture using your thumb and finger. Alternatively, you can rotate a sticker by moving your thumb and finger in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction

Once you lift your thumb and finger from the screen, the sticker will be placed. Once a sticker is placed, you can no longer resize or move it. If you are not happy with the size or placement, you would need to delete the sticker and start again.

[toggle title=”Will this Sticker Pack work on Android devices?”]

No. This Sticker Pack is only compatible with devices running iOS 10 or higher.

It’s important to note that if you have an iOS device and you send a photo with a sticker overlay to a friend using an Android device, or a iOS device that is running an earlier iOS version, the sticker will not work in quite the same way as you are expecting. On these devices, stickers are displayed as an image and all layering is ignored.

So if you send a photo with a sticker overlay to a device that does not correctly support sticker packs, they are not going to see on their device what you are seeing on your device.

[toggle title=”This sucks! It does not work!”]

Well, actually, this does work because I have tested it across multiple iOS devices without issue.

If your app does not work, Apple will not submit it to the app store, it’s that simple. I test it, and they test it. If you are trying to use the Sticker Pack in a way it was not designed to work, then yes, it will not work.
